Steampunk Camper Magic
There are dreamers in this world, and there are doers. And sometimes, magically, they are one in the same... that's when amazing things like THIS happen.
Artist Dave Moult confesses he loved steampunk, before he even knew what it was. And his love shows in this beautiful camper, named Campenarti, he designed and built himself, loosely based on the design of 1950's teardrop trailers. "This is my sixth build. I love building them and hate selling them. Most are still in the family..my daughter has one, my brother has another. My brother and sister in law have one too...Too many hours goes into making them to make a living out of them." Dave estimates he spends between 300 and 1000 hours building each one. Although, sadly, this one isn't for sale, Dave encourages you to create your own steampunk glamper. His advice for other artists is this, "I would say if you can dream it , you can build it . ... I'm not sure where I heard that first .. but I do belive it ! I do the best I can with what I have...and can do no more." Check out more of the amazing photos of this project below - we especially love the octupus inspired light fixture, library wall, and outdoor sink. And if you can't get enough steampunk - go read our very favorite steampunk series, The Parasol Protectorate books by author Gail Carriger. They have everything we love... steampunk style, mechanical monsters, hunky werewolves, lavish vampires, and a plucky heroine with a nose for trouble! We could absolutely see Alexia and Ivy galavanting about England in this camper! Get the "box set" by click the image below - or you can purchase each book individually - but trust me, you'll want them all!
