Glamping Fairy Garden with Donna

Thou shalt not covet your neighbor’s fairy garden. We’re pretty sure that’s written on a stone table somewhere. However, when we saw Donna Roy’s glamping themed fairy garden, created in a red Radio Flyer wagon no less, we decided if wanting it was wrong we don’t want to be right!

Donna was inspired to create her miniature camp ground by her friend Pat, who has fairy gardens of her own. Donna knew she wanted to make one for herself, and incorporate the things she loved. “Since I love camping and Glamping I decided to find small campers and do a trailer park. Living in East Tennessee and working fulltime I don't get the opportunity to camp as much as I want too. This project brings a smile to my face and lets me remember my friends I've made camping and keeps reminding me that another camping trip is on the way,” Donna told us.

Donna has great advice for anyone wanting to create their own miniature glamp ground, “My suggestion to anyone wanting to do a fairy garden is to think about what makes you happy and run with it. Just because it says "fairy" in the title" fairy gardens" doesn't mean you need little fairies. Use your imagination. God gave it to you and it's free. I'm looking forward to decorating my trailer park for Christmas already.”

Want to build your own Trailer Park Fairy Garden? ME TOO! Donna found items for her beach themed glamper fairy garden at Cracker Barrel, World Market, Hobby Lobby (don’t forget your coupon!), JoAnn’s and the Dollar Store. She included live plants in her garden, and suggests purchasing small container plants from a local greenhouse, ask for ones that require little maintenance.

Don’t feel like running all over town? ME NEITHER! So here’s a handy dandy shopping list to get you started – click on the items below to order and have them shipped right to your door, then you can fairy it up glamping style!

Get your Radio Flyer, to use as your container - or use something you already have. A wagon? A wheel barrow? An existing flower bed? A wooden crate? Be creative! Click on the wagon above to order it. We were surprised at the big selection of camper birdhouses available, you could have a fairy garden in every flower bed! Click on any one of them to order, and have it shipped directly to you! Or two. Or ten... you know whatever floats your boat, or rolls your camper or whatever...

Aren't all the little campers cute? They could be painted too, to further customize them. We like how Donna customized hers with tiny buntings too!

What really makes Donna's garden special are all the tiny details, from the corn on the cob on the grill to the tiny picket fence - you could go crazy making your own little fairy world! Here are some of our favorite fairy garden details - click on any of them for more info...

A tiny camp fire, perfect for any glamp ground...

Pink flamingos? Are you kidding me? PERFECTION!

Donna had some adorable chairs and a grill in her garden, you can too! Every campsite needs a picnic table.

We liked Donna's little fence, here's one for your garden.

Can we play this croquet Alice in Wonderland style with the flamingos? We're magical fairies... of course we can! Off with their heads!

And what campsite is complete without a place for roasting hot dogs and telling scary stories?

You could spend months collecting all the goodies for your glamping fairy garden... we've spent half a day looking and dreaming already!

If you build your own, send us photos at blog@glampingnation.com and we'll post them on our Facebook page!

AND THEY ALL LIVED HAPPILY EVER AFTER! THE END!
