Retro Roundup - Put a Glamper On It
This weekend lots of glampers hit the road to go camping, but we were at home day dreaming about what is coming next for our project, Milly the 1964 Avion. We're going with a flamingo theme, with retro road stop accents - we're envisioning the very best of glamper kitsch, with old postcards on the walls, and Route 66 stamped on anything that will stand still. For our dining area, we're dreaming of green and tangerine, and as much retro as one little table and two little chairs can handle.
Here are a few of our favorite wish list items for Milly that we think would be great in your vintage camper too!
These melamine dishes encompass all the best of the glamper dream, don't you think? Not microwave safe, and you'll have to handwash, but isn't that the charm of camping anyhow? Get yours here (at the best price we've found online no less! Only $40.89 for the entire set)
We think these salt and pepper shakers would go great with those dishes- don't you agree? We love the green and orange theme going on here! Get them here.
And we can't have new dishes without a table cloth and real cloth napkins right? These would match the dishes and salt and pepper shaker too... Because you can't call yourself a GLAMPER and use paper plates and paper napkins can you? No darling, you really can't. Get the napkins here and the table cloth here.
Part of the charm of glamping for us is the pigging out... the good food is part of the appeal. I can remember one of my favorite parts of going to the lake cabin as a child, which was glamping at it's best my friends, was looking forward to the fridge full of seven layer nacho dip, chocolate pudding cakes and Frito pie - which as a 9 year old is glamping gourmet! My tastes haven't improved much, so I need this retro-styled fridge to keep my ranch dip and key lime pie cold. This white one is the tiny version... although I have to admit a big old orange fridge would make my heart pitter patter y'all (Plus it would match those dishes above!) Check out the white one here and the orange one here - but prepare for a bit of sticker shock.
A $2000 dollar orange fridge just because it matches our dishes? It's our glamping dream world so yes, that is totally reasonable!
